This is a hands-on, in-depth introductory course for the novice or intermediate user. It introduces the fundamentals of Mathcad, including its unique whiteboard interface, math toolbars, entering and editing of functions and expressions, arrays and range variables, units, 2D and 3D plots etc.

Who is this course intended for?

This course is ideal for people who are new to Mathcad or those who have used the program before but would like to understand some it’s finer points. Irrespective of your background, this course allows you to harness and implement Mathcad’s functionalities thus increasing your efficiency and productivity within your organisation.

Course content

(1) Mathcad Overview: Getting to know the Mathcad interface, shortcut tricks, overview of the toolbars.

(2) Entering & Editing Expressions: In this module you go through the basics of editing and step up to advanced editing. 

(3) Formatting & Documenting: Involves customising Mathcad documents, looking at style sheets, math and text regions.

(4) Functions: Learn how to define functions, both discrete and continuous. Also explore Mathcad's inbuilt functions and how Mathcad defines variables.

(5) Units: Units are Mathcad's speciality. This module will explore how Mathcad deals with units, using custom unit systems and dealing with vectors which have units.

(6) Plotting 2D and 3D: This module will explore the basic of plotting in Mathcad. In particular plotting with units. Very important for engineers.

(7) Data exchange: This module will explore how Mathcad integrates with Excel. Explore importing Excel data and the Mathcad-Excel bi-directional link.

If a cancellation occurs within 10 working days of the course date, the full value of the course fee will be charged. If cancelled prior to 10 working days of the course date, no cancellation fee will be charged. Cancellation fees apply to all training attendees. Hearne Scientific Software reserves the right to reschedule any course. In the event that Hearne Scientific Software cancels a course, full refunds will be issued to all paid parties.
